UNCUT MAGAZINE described Salford based singer songwriter and poet Vinny Peculiar [aka Alan Wilkes] as ‘the Tony Hancock of Pop’ upon the release of his 2002 album ‘Ironing the Soul’. Since this inspired debut he’s put out ten albums of ‘outsider pop’ music to great critical acclaim. Artistic collaborations have included the making of SOUP ART with Bill Drummond [KLF], and his various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, OASIS, Aztec Camera & The Fall. Peculiar live solo shows are song and poem based where witty words and self-deprecating monologues prevail. Comparisons to Jarvis Cocker, John Cooper Clarke and EELS are often cited in dispatches.
Little Rach has been described as "A wee folkie with a punk spirit " and "Like Joni Mitchell meets Pam Ayres, via Johnny Cash".
She prefers to let others decide for themselves.
Carrying with her a beautifully pure voice, a true sensibility for live performance, and songs that will make you laugh, cry, and wonder.
She is currently touring across the UK with her six string guitar, and SatNav... like a true 21st Century Troubadour.
Her debut album 'If You Go' is soon to be released on Farm Folk Records.
Little Hulton lad Andy recently released his debut album 'You Talk Too Much" independently and has been cited as 'one to watch out for in 2015' by Salford poet JB Barrington and Salford City Radio.
